Subject: Non-financial disclosures – new announcements
Dear Sir/Madam,
We are pleased to inform you that the Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance (TEG) has published its report on climate related disclosures. This report contains recommendations for the update of the Commission’s non-binding guidelines on non-financial reporting, specifically with regard to climate-related issues and to align those guidelines with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures(TCFD). Stakeholders are invited to provide with written comments on the report by 1 February in the following link: [https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/teg-report-climate-related-disclosures]. The TEG will process these comments and give the Commission services a summary to be considered in the update of the guidelines.
Please note that outreach efforts for TEG work related to taxonomy, green bond standards and low carbon benchmarks are being developed. We are also pleased to inform you that the new European Corporate Reporting Laboratory, hosted by the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG), has published a call for candidates to become members of the new Project Task Force on Climate-related Reporting. The deadline for applications is 26 January. EFRAG is also gathering expressions of interest from those wishing to participate in future European Reporting Lab events.
